Police in the Isle of Man are on the lookout for thieves who stole about 200 litres of domestic heating oil.
According to Manx Radio, the fuel was taken from a tank at a property located near a prison in the Ramsey area.
However, officers believe that the perpetrators of the crime may have been disturbed while they were in the process of stealing the oil, as only a relatively small amount was taken.
Police have therefore called on anyone who may have any useful information to get in touch as soon as possible.
This comes after the Environment Agency urged home heating oil users to carry out regular maintenance checks on their tanks to protect them from damage and to prevent leaks.
The organisation said householders should get an accredited Oil Firing Technical Association-registered serviceman to inspect tanks, sight-gauges, valves and pipes each year.
